Welcome to camp! Every day here is just a bit different from the one before—that’s part of the magic of camp! Sometimes we have special events like a dance troupe coming in to perform, or a talent show or carnival that changes the day around. Other days, we follow an activities schedule—which means you have the same number of activities each day, but the activities themselves change each day so you get a chance to try everything. A “regular day” at camp is outlined below.
|
8:50 am |
Welcome to camp! |
You’re getting dropped off just about now, either from your family’s car or maybe you took the bus. Everyone is walking over to the Pavilion, where we start the day. Some of the kids in your group have been there since earlier in the morning for extended day—they had breakfast and played field games already this morning! |
|
9:00 |
Pavilion |
You’re sitting in your group with your counselor, singing a few songs, listening to morning announcements, and getting ready for the day! |
|
9:15 |
Groups |
Every day your group, with some help from your counselor, gets to choose an activity to do during this time. This is a special time for you to pick what’s going on! Today, your group is practicing your skit for the talent show on Friday. |
|
10:00 |
Activity 1 (Swim Lessons) |
Every day you have swim lessons in the morning. You change in the changing rooms and then walk over to the pool with your counselor. Once you get there, you put your towel on the fence and meet your swim instructor over by the shallow end. Today your swim group is working on swimming under water—hold your breath! |
|
11:00 |
Activity 2 |
After you change into dry clothes its off to Activity 2—you saw this morning on the schedule that it’s Archery. It’s a bit of a hike over to the archery range—but you walk on the nature trail by the pond, so there’s lots to look at as you go. Your counselor is already singing before you even set foot on the path! |
|
12:00 |
Lunch |
Back to the shady grove by the Pavilion for lunch. Your counselor put your lunch in the refrigerator this morning when you got to camp, so your juice box is nice and cold—very refreshing! You sit with your group to eat, then the whole camp sings some songs and cleans up the area around the picnic tables. |
|
12:30 |
Activity 3 |
Onward to Arts and Crafts—something quiet, which is good because it’s been a busy morning. Today in A & C you’re making clay sculptures, and you get to bring home the painting you did a few days ago—it’s finally dry! |
|
1:30 |
Spread |
The closest thing you can compare Spread to is recess, and you have the whole Spread Field to run around on. The slide at the playground is always a good option—or over there, counselors are organizing a soccer game, someone is getting out a frisbee, and yesterday you played HORSE at the basketball court. Or, today you could just sit in the shade and work on your gimp lanyard and talk with your friends. |
|
2:30 |
Free Swim |
Okay-you’re all hot from being on the field—it’s time to cool down with an hour in the pool! Free swim is great—everyone’s in the water and a lot of the counselors swim too. Today there’s a game of marco polo going on in the shallow end and the lifeguards just got out some of those colored foam noodles. |
|
3:30 |
End of Day |
It’s back to the Pavilion to change out of swim suits, put all your stuff together, sing some songs, play a quick game with your group, then have end of day announcements. |
|
3:50 |
Dismissal |
It’s time to head home already! Everyone is lining up—you’re in line to get on Bus 2—and over there are the kids that are staying for extended day. They’re going to have a snack and then it’s a couple more hours of activities for them! You’ve had a great day at camp—and the coolest thing is that you get to come back and do it all again tomorrow! |
