Empower The Future

In 2004, Crossroads for Kids and The Camp Coca-Cola Foundation formed a partnership to bring an innovative youth-development program to the Boston area that they called Camp Coca-Cola. The Foundation opted to partner with Crossroads because the organization is a leader in the field of youth development, which is proven by the incredible successes Crossroads has experienced with Greater Boston’s at-risk community. The collaboration between these two organizations leverages the strength of Crossroads’ 70 years of outstanding programs with Coca-Cola’s vision and commitment to preparing tomorrow’s leaders. This relationship creates additional support and increased opportunities for youth participating in these programs.

Crossroads for Kids and its teen-leadership program, Camp Coca-Cola New England, helps teens create a positive personal vision for the future, empowering promising teens with limited resources to achieve their full potential and to contribute to the improvement of their communities. The Camp Coca-Cola program is a five-year approach to teen leadership (ages 12-18) providing encouragement and support through year-round programming that includes leadership training and volunteer service in the community. This approach builds upon Crossroad’s Camper Continuity Initiative, which provides participants (ages 9-12) with continuous support and guidance over a four-year period. Studies and experience have shown that these are the critical formative years that set the stage for a young person’s life.

Crossroads has been able to help guide and mentor young people for over 70 years by providing them with opportunities in a supportive environment and a program focused on continuity and consistency that will positively impact the lives of our youth.

Crossroads for Kids and The Camp Coco-Cola Foundation are formally announcing a partnership and launching a $16 million endowment campaign for Camp Coca-Cola New England and the Crossroads for Kids Camper Continuity Initiative programs. The Camp Coca-Cola Foundation is proud to announce a $4 million lead gift to this campaign from the Coca-Cola system (Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc. and The Camp Coca-Cola Company), in addition to $2 million previously committed in other support.

We are working together to “change the odds” for the youth most in need in our Greater Boston communities. This is an exciting opportunity, and we need your help to create and maintain a viable future for Boston through those who will ultimately sustain and develop our communities – our young people, the leaders of tomorrow.

Thank you for inspiring and preparing tomorrow’s leaders, and also for believing today!
