A giant and enthusiastic Blue Crew from Blue Cross Blue Shield visited Camp Wing on Tuesday, September 20th to help us get the site in tip-top shape! Not even a drizzly day could slow this group down as they cleared paths, painted buildings and got a taste of what makes Crossroads so special.
The Blue Crew transformed parts of camp, repainting our main office as well as many of our summer cabins, ridding our paths of the remnants of Hurricane Irene, and above all spending time with our staff and some program alumni learning first-hand what makes Crossroads such a unique program. Check out a few photos of their day here!
Blue Cross is one of our corporate partners and we really valued the opportunity to introduce so many of their employees to Crossroads on such a personal level. This particular day marked a new annual tradition for BCBS, the Service Day Powered by Blue Crew, in which more than 3000 BCBS employees fanned out across Massachusetts to serve the communities where they live and work. Through a day at Crossroads we were able to give their team new insight into how we embody several of the pillars of their Corporate Citizenship Strategy: healthy child development, education enrichment, and healthy environment and family nutrition.
Thank you, Blue Crew!
