On Wednesday, November 2, 2011 several of our program participants and staff were privileged to participate in an installment of our Leadership Lunch series at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Boston. Program alum Fidelis joined current high school juniors Andrea, Raegina and David at the event during which they met with several key players in the Boston office, including Partner Tara Aliotta (also on the Crossroads for Kids Board of Trustees) and Ann Ulett, the Northeast Region Diversity Recruiting Manager. The event included a tour and an in-depth information session about what PwC does: everyone came away from the afternoon with a deeper understanding of what it means to work in accounting, what a career path in the field might look like, and what the educational goals a student should have in place to work in a major firm like PwC. Additionally, the PwC team led everyone from Crossroads in a team-building activity, constructing a helicopter out of small plastic pieces—team building activities always make Crossroads folks feel right at home!
Our teens left the Leadership Lunch fired up about the new possibilities and opportunities opening in front of them. The PwC team told them about special summer programs for rising high school seniors, and the 3 teens at the event all said they would strongly consider applying for the upcoming summer! Thank you to the PricewaterhouseCoopers team for hosting such an informative event, and for being such staunch supporters of our kids and programs!
