Massachusetts Promise Fellow Class of XIII!

Type:  Coverage

Crossroads for Kids has been chosen as a partner organization for the Massachusetts Promise Fellow program! One member of the MPF Class XIII of 2011-2012 will spend one year working at Crossroads as a College Access Fellow. This position will have two parts: stage one of the College Access Fellow project will focus on working with high school seniors, beginning in August before their senior year and working with this class until their college matriculation; stage two will focus on developing an alumni tracking/engagement program that will allow the organization to support alumni as they travel through college.

The Massachusetts Promise Fellowship believes that all young people in the Commonwealth have a right to the resources that they need to be successful in life, including a caring adult, a safe place, a healthy start, an effective education, and an opportunity to serve. MPF delivers these 5 promises to youth by training emerging leaders who commit one year of service to support and provide these needed resources to youth throughout the Commonwealth. The Fellowship has placed over 200 Fellows at over 80 host sites to provide over 350,000 hours to communities across Massachusetts.

Hosting a Massachusetts Promise Fellow will enable Crossroads to create a new youth-focused project; improve the quality and effectiveness of current youth programming; partner with a statewide network of youth services organizations and agencies; and allow us to build alumni tracking and engagement capacities as we graduate ever more teens! We are looking forward to welcoming our first Massachusetts Promise Fellow in August 2011!
