Our History

For 75 years, Crossroads for Kids has served Eastern Massachusetts’ at-risk youth. Crossroads for Kids was originally founded in 1936 under the name Boys and Girls Camps by Arthur Taylor Burger, Executive Director of Boys Clubs of Boston, and other Boys Clubs Trustees. Their goal was to provide Boston-area youth with the opportunity to enjoy a camp experience and the associated benefits and character development of an intentional residential camp experience.

We changed our name to Crossroads for Kids in 1998 to reflect our more comprehensive services, as we introduced year-round programming to bring the safety and community that our kids experienced during the summer to their daily lives throughout the school year.
