Stumbled on this site looking for information for my nephew regarding Camp Lapham. I recognized Brian Olson and had to chime in. I worked at Camp Lapham in '82. - - One of the best summers of my life. I am now married to my then girlfriend, Jennifer, and we have two kids.

Hello fellow Camp Wing alumni and staff alumni! John Dawson, a fellow counselor from our wonderful 1970 staff, sent me the Crossroads website from Ireland.
It was fantastic to see Paul Canty, Norm, Harry Kelbe (he was a counselor when I was a camper,too!), and Paul Poirier from those days. God bless you all for your continuing loyalty to the Camp Wing thing. I still have group staff photos of 1970,1971,and 1972 with our multinational staff from Camp America Program.
And now, 37 years later John Dawson and I are still trading Christmas cards, and I have visited his home in Dublin twice, and he has visited me here in Boston. I was greatly saddened to read of Fletcher Fuentes' death last year. Fletcher was a main attraction at Camp Wing for many, many summers, and I remember his energy, wit and humor, and his amazing ability to come up with new practical jokes. I wonder what has become of all the rest of the staff over the years: Doug MacEvoy, Mike Burgess, Glenn, Janice Ward, Skip Lloyd, Bill Dunn, Bruce Bishop, John Gatlin, Chris Williams, Noel Peres, Marcel Dufresne, etc., etc.

John Dawon (dawson@iol.ie)I feel old ! I was a counsellor in Camp Wing in 1968 or maybe 1969 and I recognise the name of Michael Burgess who was Asst Director when I was there. I was a student from Ireland and had a life-altering and wonderful summer. I still keep in contact with Steve Masse and remember guys like Bill Williamson. I have a great black and white photo of some of the guys. Send me a mail if anyone would like a copy. I'm still living in Ireland, have two grown-up daughters and will be a Grandpa next summer....I've worked in the airline business and do consultancy work around the world. Take care all.

My dad Owen Ryder was a cook at Camp Wing in the late 1940s when he was a student at Holy Cross. He always talked with fondness about his time there - and my siblings and I would love to hear from people who knew him. Sadly, he passed away 2 years ago - leaving many many friends, former students, and colleagues from his teaching and coaching days in Worcester.

Man I loved that place as a kid growing up in the projects of south boston, it was heaven.
Many a summers spent and winter training at the stockade working in the kitchens at wing and mitton. I would have continued working there had I not moved to maine to live at a survial school were I became a staff member.

Hello, I'm an old camper from 1984, 1985ish. Im writing to see how every one is. I see Camp Wing and Cross Roads for kids is giving some awesome memories. For the one year I was there. It has given me so many good memories. Im hoping maybe I can find a fellow camper or even a councler that remebers me from then. To give a hint I was and this is kind of funny. I was the kid with all the misqueto bites while I was there. I also did lot of clean up at dinner meal time when i person per acabin was needed.
Again I hope to find some one that does remember me. Here is another hint that may jog a memory. That summer as part of the olympic type of program there. My cabin and another tied for first place blue ribbons for cleanslyness. I also spent alot of time in the art cabin and the nature hut aswell.
Im so glad to see the camp is doing so wwell. I hope next year to maybe come back and do some counseling again anr rebring back alot of theses memories and make even more. For the 3 months i was there. This is a place I will never forget. And I hold dear to my heart. The memroies given to me will bw cherished forever. I have made it back bout 2 weeks from this post taking pics. I should be at the reunion as long as I getthe invite. I look foward to meet new people and also maybe fined and old friend there I havent seen ever since.

OK I know I posted a message on this bad larry quite some time ago, but I didn't know where it went until today, when Denise asked me if I was going to match my sneakers to my scrunchi. (Very funny Brian!) As I read through all of these messages, I must admit I got a little teary eyed seeing so many familiar names. I miss the feeling of the camp family and loved seeing that so many of my LIT's are now sending their kids to camp... I don't feel old or anything! I had the fortunate opportunity to be a part of a couple of camp eras from 1976-1998.From the Govea's the Canty's and Dick Gavoni to The Lozano's. What's the remaining factor? The Cleary's. Keep up the great work Pat... Your dad would be proud! Well now I plan on emailing many of those people that I have recognized and I hope more eventually log on so I can find them too! I worked at Wing/Stockade 1991-1994. I googled a couple of names of staff members and found this website, and it makes me giddy to revisit those amazing summers. They were the best, and the hardest, and the most rewarding. So many people, kids and staff alike, touched my life, made me a better person, and gave me a great perspective. I spend a lot of time reflecting, and wondering, and often wishing that I could go back for one more summer. Kudos to those who are still there, or are only just beginning to carry on the traditions, and making a difference in and for "our" kids. With fond memories and kindest regards, Sarah Jane

I first went to Camp Wing at age 6 and was involved with Camp Wing and Duxbury Stockade until I turned 17. Growing from a camper to a staff member was a great experience. I met some wonderful people, too many to mention, but these are just a few I HAVE to mention. All my LTW brothers, you know who you are, Joe Kintigos, Don Hackett, George Watson, Paul Canty, Bill Dunn and the entire Gouveia family and who could forget the Milton girls. Everything I needed to know in life I learned at Camp Wing.

Hello! I would like to get a message to Harry Kelby whom I saw in the Alumni photos from 2006.I worked alongside Harry in the Senior Section of Camp Wing and it would be great to hear from him. I was a camper in the mid 60's,went on to become a trail worker.I had a job in the kitchen at duxbury stockade, working with great people like Miguel(Leapy) Lopez,Mike Shenahan,also other people working in camp like Dan the director and Wayne his assistant.In 1974 I was cooking with Steve Gill,Ray Mcnaulty,Louie Columbo and of coarse our baker and pastry chef Paul Porier,at the camp wing kitchen, we had great time.I thank my mom everyday that she found duxbury stockade and camp wing when I was kid,because it was the best thing that ever happened to me, it took me off the streets and gave me hope.Please anyone if there is another staff reunion,let me know.The years I worked at camp wing/Duxbury Stockade, 1969,1970,1971,1972,1973,1974, good bye for now

I attended my first alumni day this past August. I came to camp with no expectations and had just the best time!! So many "old" friends to re-visit--it felt like a huge hug of a day!! I was the "office manager" in '76/77--so I feel like an old timer!! Anyone out there from the Indiana crew--you were the best. Nancy Butler, Bill Orsini, Bill Dunne, Mike Vincent, Bunna, the Donovan brothers--were are you all. Would love to hear from anyone who was around in the Summers of '76/77--those were the best of times--before we all reall "grew up"!!!!

It's been a few years since working at camp, but it often seems as if the summers of 98, 99, & 00 aren't as far behind me, as they actually are. Camp Wing is a beautiful place, and serves as a portal for fun, and experience, for both staff and kids. When you try to explain to friends and family what camp truly is, you find out quickly that you have to had been there to feel what your saying. A big shout out to all alumni from all years, and also to the future kids and staff ... enjoy your summers there because it doesn't get any better than that.

Hi, I was a camper at Stockade in 1989/1992/ 1993. I have two kids and I am still in Boston.
I still think about camp and have great memories camp and counselors- hello to my favorite old counselor- Donna from England, Theresa from Iowa and Sarah Jane-(sorry I can't remember where your from.)
I wrote the camp and asked them about a family camp where ex campers/counselors could attend camp with there familys for a week/weekend after the kids camp season ends. Any other alumni interested in this idea. it would be a great way to raise money for the camp and a trip dowm memory lane for us alumni.

Yesterday (August 6th, 2006)I went to my first Alumni Day event. It was the BEST time I have had since I went to Camp Wing and the Duxbury Stockade, in the 1960's. I was great to see some of my old camper friends, and I felt 12 years old again. If you have never gone to an Alumni Day, YOU HAVE TO! To see and FEEL the love and friendship that camp creates amoung the youth of this world is beyond words! The camp still looks the same, smells the same, sounds the same, and feels the same...GREAT!
I am going to say this to ALL the Camp Alumni from years gone by. I can see the camp is in dire need of funds and help to keep going. It needs ALL Alumni, who have gone through the camp and who appreciate the help and guidance it gave us, to help continue this goal. We need to step up, and help "Give a little Back!" I am going to try to help as much as I can, and I am going to ask ALL Alumni to do the same. I learned many years ago, If we just take and never give back, eventually it will all be gone. Camp Wing, and Duxbury Stockade,(Crossroads for Kids) were there for us, when we needed help, now it needs OUR help. Who else is with me?

WOW! Looking at this message board is bringing back all kinds of memories. I was the arts and crafts "lady" at Wing/Stockade in the mid '90s (2 years), and I just stumbled on this site on Alumni day. Good to see some of the old gang here (Janelle, Denise, Jenn, Nick...). This was the greatest job that you can't afford to do anymore- otherwise, I think I'd still be there. (Still, years later, stories from camp are there. I think I have some plans for next August (Alumni Day).....

My 6th grade school trip to Camp Wing was so much fun, I asked my Mom if I could go during the summer. For the next couple of years a few friends and I lied about our ages because we were too old for the camper program. Since we were starting to look older than our counselors, we asked for jobs. We harassed Don Hackett by barraging him with letters begging him to let us work there. Finally, we wore him down. Now I was too young, and had to lie again about my age. Fortunately, no one questioned how I went from 11 to 14 in just one year. That summer, I learned the true meaning behind, “Be careful what you wish for.” I earned $75 for the entire summer in the laundry, washing sweaty counselor clothes and bedwetter sheets.
After a couple of years, I moved to the Wing kitchen. You haven’t experienced true gourmet cooking until you’ve opened 25 mega cans of sloppy joe mix, plop the contents into a hot cauldron, and stir it with spoon the size of a boat oar while standing in a 90 degree kitchen. However, there were lots of pluses to working in the kitchen. My two favorite things about the kitchen were working with the wonderful Chef Leroy and eating Paul Pourier’s rolls fresh out of the oven.
Sometimes, I think my parents loved Camp Wing even more than I did. They both grew up very poor and never had an opportunity to go to camp as kids. One summer, I was working there and my brother was a camper. Since we were out of their hair, my parents had some free time, but they were struggling financially. They entertained themselves at home by playing music and dancing together in our kitchen. On one of these nights, my Dad said to my Mom, “We should have had a million children and sent them all to Camp Wing!”

I have been updating my resume and I was including my 2 years at Camp Wing/Duxbury Stockade in 1982 and 1983. It suddenly occured to me to check for a website. This is great. Now I can show my kids and my husband this place they have heard so much about.
I was 17/18 at the time and those 2 summers hold, to this day, some of the greatest memories for me. My name was Lisa Allen the first year I was there. The second year I had married and my name was Lisa Fenter. I would love to hear from anyone else who might have been there then. I was so pleased to see that the camp is still going strong.

Wow! Camp Wing was such an amazing experience for me (staff 1994-1998). I have so many great memories of Camp and I talk about my kids all the time. It was comforting to see them come back year after year. The other staff were also a huge part of my memories. Working there actually got me to break out of my shell and was a big influence of who I am today.

I am am so pleased that you are reconnecting alumni. Starting at 14 years old I worked for more than 10 summers and winters at Camp Wing and Duxbury Stockade.(1965-1977?)I found my w-2 form for my first summer of work at Camp Wing. It was all of $45.00 for the entire summer. I was one of those at-risk kids who was deeply impacted by the life-changing experiences I encountered at both camps. Paul Canty was my first counselor when I was a worker at Duxbury Stockade. As then, he is probably still an unforgettable character.
As a result of my training and character building at Duxbury, I continued with my education. I now have a masters degree, and am currently working on my doctorate. I am working with at risk children in my position as elementary counselor in a Georgia school of over 1000 children.
I'm sure that all of the alumni have learned to pay it forward and make a positive impact on the world. I doubt that I'll be able to attend in August, due to the fact that I'll be working, but I wish everyone well, and look forward to people getting in touch through email.

I was a kitchen staffer back in mid 70's. I did some winter counselor at Duxbury Stockade that following winter. I can remember the Xmas in July helicopter landing with St. Nick that year I worked in the dining hall. Did the floor hockey in dining hall with other kitchen staffers. I remember being put in a cabin in Bill Dunn's side of the camp. Our cabin won the Gold Rush night one of the weekends I was a cabin counselor. Lot of fun working there.

I was a summer camper at Camp Wing from about 1936 to 1939. These many years later I remember the freedom and trust, and the wonderful counselors who gave me models of what it means to be a man. Camp Wing in my time was a wonderful gift. Of the many friends I had, I now remember only one, and he died of pneumonia and exposure during the Battle of the Bulge. It is good news to read the e-mails expressing their appreciation and love for Camp Wing. Many thanks to the people who established Camp Wing and who are continuing its existence. John A. Gillis

I was a staff memberWow...its the beginning of June and I'm starting to say to myself "should I take a leave of absence to work at camp". I would love to but realistically I cannot. I had some of the best summer memories at camp. Most of them coming as an LIT. I still keep in contact with a lot of the people I met at camp. Every now and then I remember something crazy I did or was apart of at camp and laugh to myself. Being an alumni is like being part of some secret fraternity. You will always remember the songs and dances and the people. If I ever hit the lotto.... believe me- I'll be right down in Duxbury at the end of June in staff training. I was a camper at Camp Wing/Stockade from 1980 to 1984. My twin sister and I had the best time at camp. I can still remember names of campers and one counsler sticks out in my mind her name was Chrissy Jarvis. I now have a 12 year old daughter who is going to camp for her fourth year and she loves it. She has a nickname and all the kids call her by it. I know she is looking forward to going for her fourth year..

As a camper i remeber most of you counselors but one made an impact for life and that was Rusty Russell. He was the best.As a staff member i will remember one camper who everynight came and gave my co-counselor and I a hug, and then on the last night asked if we could take him home because he loved us. That memory will be shared with my kids and others forever. To me that is what crossroads is all about helping the young kids.

Hello everyone!!
I randomly check this message board but never get around to actually leaving a message! Just wanted to say a big HI to all staff from 2001, (a blurry) 2002 and 2003, especially the Junior Girls campers and counsellors from those years...I still miss camp and even though it feels like i was there a 1000 years ago i remeber all the amazing people (staff and campers) and times that i had there. One summer i laughed so much all the time i thought i was going to come home with a six pack(but too many nights at the Ming soon put an end to any hopes of actually getting one!). Great place to be. I would just like to say hello to everyone out there. I attended camp for quite some time.. i believe it was from 1995 to 2003. Camp Wing definitly a safe haven for not only the campers but staff as well. Every summer that passes i miss my involvement with Crossroads. It's not a job it's a vacation. There is nothing more amazing than feeling as though you have guided and protected the campers that attend crossroads. To the past, present and future staff it is a wonderful thing you are doing. I have the best years of my life at camp. Katie and I always talk about the good old days. I was a camper, L.I.T, a kitchen staff member, and worked in the camp office. I always look through the pictures that we all took during the time we were campers and the L.I.T. times. When I was younger I would be so happy when school was over so i could go to camp for the entire summer. I have made so many friends at camp and still keep in touch with alot of them. I have two children and I am looking forward to my son going to camp this summer. He is really looking forward to it and hopefully he has a great experience like I did.

I attended Duxbury Stockade around 1983 as a camper. It was a great experience for me. I had alot of fun and memories.

It was and still is one of the most cherished memories I have. I learnt to swim at Stockade. I was determined to return to camp but found myself
running a mini camp at home!;-) I have not put the dream to bed yet, there's life in this counselor yet. I have gone on to work with children in

wonderful things have happened at Camps Wing, Mitton, and The Stockade since I was camper/kitchen worker/counselor from the mid-40's to 50's.
Dick Gavone was one of my role models, as well as Jack Olson & others. I still remember Dick's wonderful wife, Claire--often camp cook--with
fondness. The whole experience defines part of what I am today--retired Army officer, DA civil service, 3 sons, 3 grandsons, 4 granddaughters,
and enjoying the good life down here in Columbus, GA. as an educator. Count me in for whatever support I can provide at this distance. I'd love to
hear from any of the antiquarians who may remember me from camp days.

I went to Camp Wing, and the Duxbury Stockade from about 1961 until 1965. I was a camper, a pool boy, an assistant head waiter, and kitchen helper. I remember the tornado that ripped throught Camp Wing in July of 1964 and destroyed the Indian Village we built across the street. I remember Dick Gavone, Phil Patrilla, Fred (Buster) O'Brian, Jesse (at the Stockade), Timmy Donavan, Mike Mucci (Major Mucci,now with the MA State Police, and Hall of Famer at Boston College for football) Billy Mullen, Bobby Hailey, Billy Shinney (Shinney's Landing) Paul Cante, and many, many more friends that I made. Going to Camp Wing and the Duxbury Stockade was the best and most memorable summers of my life. I made so many friends, and looked forward to returning every summer to see them again. I remeber playing "Taps" from the Stockade Wall every night,with my bugle, while "Jesse made my practice every day to get it right. There are SO many good memories that I cheerish, and know Camp Wing and the Duxbury Stockade will always be a part of my like. I wish I had made it to Dick Gavone's party. Hopefully next reunion I will be able to make.

Trying to solve the mystery of how Stacey Ostiguy's letter found me at my office in Fort Benning, GA. I find that this great organization that helped me and my friends as campers and counselors from the mid-40's through high school has morphed into something of international proportions. Although I couldn't join you for today's reunion, I send my best regards to Dick Gavone--one of my premier role models--and others of those days: Jack Olson, Owen Ryder, Armando (Dave) Mazzone, John Fiore, Stan Swig, and others whom I came to appreciate more fully only after maturity gave me a little perspective. I'm retired Army, civil service, and presently directing a college program at Fort Benning. Somebody, please contact me if this pushes a nostalgic button.

Glad to see Camp Wing and the Stockade still up and running. I was a camper, Learn-to-Work trainee, and a counselor, back in the 70's. Lots of good memories from Summer and Winter camp. Worked every job in that camp! I still remember all the people and activities: Don Hackett (sorry to hear about Olin) Bill Dunn, Joe Kintagos, The Goviea Family (Steve Sr, Mom, Lisa, Laurie, Steve Jr) The Mehegans (Kevin & Sisters, from Charlestown) Mike Mackley, Kenny and Danny Kanning, Jeff Driscol, Bones McCloud "Big Mike" the turtle Frank Laugharello, Floor hockey in the dining hall, counselor hunts, making the fires too hot in the cabins during the winter. My little brother Richie, Great fishing, frog hunting in the swamp behind the tee-pee's, movies in the stockyard dining hall during winter camp... Nerf football in the Stockade...Creasoot (spelling) the Stockade..Chopping wood for the winter.

I was at the Institude for LeadershipAnd one time at camp......most of my friend tease me about boasting on and on about my camp experiences. They even got me a tank top with “camp counselor” written on it. Its something you cannot understand till you've been there nor never let go from your memories. As a Camper, LIT and Counselor, I must say I couldn't get enough. I entered as a camper of 6 and left as a 17 year old staff with great knowledge, incredible memories and life long friends. I have been in two of my best friends from camp weddings (Tiff “biffy”and Roni) and am still very close with a lot of the LIT crew. Raheem and I live two streets from each other. My camp memories contain so many of the best times of my life. I think it was the best thing my mom could have ever done with my summers (and winters, they couldn't get us to leave). Now being a mom myself I get to be the one thing I haven't been yet......a visiting parent. I can't wait till she gets to enjoy the camp I loved.

First off, I would like to say HELLO! I am really happy and surprised to see these camps still exist. I attended all three camps - Wing, Lapham, and Mitton as a camper back in the early 80's and my what wonderful memories I have. I sadly don't remember any names, however, I remember just about everything else to standing in line to go into the chow hall and raising the flag to sitting around the circle of logs singing and telling ghost stories. Speaking of which I was curious as to how Bloody Mary was doing on those nature walks?? Are the brides-to-be still chasing the grooms-to-be to yank their socks hanging out of their back pockets so they have to marry you? I absolutely loved coming to these camps and learned so much from them... Actually, Camp Lapham is the place I first learned how to swim. I would love to hear from anyone who attended around the same times I did. I look forward to sending my little ones there.....

Even now looking at the many photographs I have always brings a big smile to my face and I still remember a lot of the kid's names after 10+ years - that's the kind of impact they had. 'Summer Camp' is alien to us Brits so I had no idea what to expect but it was one of the most rewarding things I have ever done. Wish I was young enough to do it again!

Wow...Camp memories relived in an instant! I was at CWDC all of my years at camp, but I had the opportunity to live on camp grounds and it brought me closer to the camp experience. Hello! Such an excellent time at camp. Made great friends, had a brilliant experience and learned a lot about kids, working with people and myself. Oh, and learned how run 100 metres in 6 seconds to break up kids fighting (dag man... that ain't right!).I now work as a freelance graphic designer and illustrator of kids' books and have drawn upon many a time spent at good old camp. I have bored many a friend with tale from the USA. I still wake up to a great big bell and salute the US flag - some habits are hard to break!

I have so many fond memories at camp from being a camper, as well as a staff member, but especially being an LIT and a member of the Mass 55th. Traveling all over the east coast doing parades and reenactments, and LIT weekends is something I will always remember. I made so many friends at camp that I still have to this day. I do recognize a lot of the names listed. From Ronnie yelling "Jooooohn DeRosa" to Julie, Sean, and Denise. I hope future campers, LIT's and staff get the samething from camp that I got out of it!!!

I have NO idea what made me look at this today, but here I am seeing, Nick Turk's name, Sean Wolfe, Denise Curran, Danielle Mooney, Julie, Ronnie........HOW THE HECK are you people? I saw that nobody really mentioned CWDC!! (Danielle, you touched on it) Camp Wing DAY CAMP, could not mean more to me.... the best memories I have come from the Pavillion, the Tee Pee's (and the DUMP)... I hope everyone is doing well.... I miss those darn paddle boats.

I was at Camp Mitton.I can't even express what Crossroads means to me... I grew up there. It was a second home, and I some points I may have considered it my first home. Countless people had made such deep impacts on me as a shy 10 year old, who couldn't look anyone in the eye, to a committed 18 year old City Year Corps Member dedicating a year to Community Service, which is something that my parents and I both credit camp for. I would not trade my experiences at Wing, Mitton, or Lapham for anything! Thank you all so much, and I'll see you all this summer!

Summer at Camp Lapham was something I have never forgotten. I met some wonderful people who I have since visited and those kids are still locked in my memory and my heart. It is an incredible experience.

Some of my greatest memories in life were made at Crossroads! I would have to say that my most precious memories were the campfires on Mitton's waterfront at the end of Discovery Day, and in the dining hall when we sang our hearts out as loud as we could. And just before lights out, that few minutes we had to reflect on the days events, and finding out that a camper had finally earned there deep end tag, learned how to swim, made a new friend, went on their first canoe ride, rode a horse, caught a fish, a frog, or a turtle or learned a new dance ... those moments at the end of the day, seeing a child smiling with pride over their accomplishments and adventures.... that's the good stuff..

It was a real eye opener and made me grow up a lot and take responsibility. I didn't realize how much I enjoyed until it was all over thanks for the opportunity and who knows maybe I might be lucky enough to be a counselor again.

I attended Crossroads for Kids in the 50's for the complete summer.
I was at Camp Wing and the Duxbury Stockade
My family started to send me when I was 12, or 13 years old. It was the BEST time of my young (EAST Boston) life, later in life after school, the Air Force, I moved to the south shore ( Rockland, Pembroke )had two kids. When they were around 12, and 6 years old I took them for a Sunday ride to see the Camps both Camp Wing, and the Stockade. We when into one of the cabins that I stayed in years back. I showed then were i craved my name into the wall, Its was GREAT going back in time, when life seemed so much fun.
I loved the big lake, sleep outs in the woods, camp fires and yes the stories. I can still smell the pink cones. The BEST was Sunday was visitors day and my family would drive down from East Boston to have lunch and listen to my stories. We didn't have a lot of money but my Mother wanted me to enjoy my summers and keep trouble at bay. She did an outstanding Job, and the camps really helped me grow up. I' am 56 years old retired from the Aviation industry after 34years, I' am now working on redevelopment programs at the airport. Keep up the good work, kids are us. Thanks, maybe I'll take a trip down this summer to visit.

Wow... What is there to say other than camp could probably be the best experience of your life. I grew up at camp. I spent the most critical years of my life with them. They taught me everything i know, I am the person i am because of my experiences at camp. I thank everyone that has made a difference in my life and anyone that has chosen to give any time to crossroads. Best decision you could make. The fact that you can go somewhere and make a major impact on someone's life for the greater is just astounding. I was a camper, IFL (LIT) and now a staff member. How good does that get i got the best of all worlds... there isn't even a need to think about coming, it should be an instinctual choice “yes i am going to crossroads”

I just want to say that my experience as a camp counselor and the opportunity I had to organize and run the multicultural arts center named “Shades” in the tree house was one of the most fun, memorable, fascinating and satisfying jobs I ever had. I made some wonderful friends, both staff and campers whom I will always keep fondly in my heart.

Working at camp was a great growing experience for me. It helped me decide that being a teacher is what I wanted to do with my life... and my classroom is more than just inside four walls. Life experiences for kids is so much more impressionable than paper and pen. When you work with kids in an environment like camp, there is no comparison!

I was at Camp LaphamFor everyone that is having second thoughts about signing up for the season. It will be the experience of a lifetime. You will meet some amazing people, wonderful staff and mentors and don't forget about the kids, its all about the kids. I was with C.F.K. Inc. for 6 years and loved every minute of it. It has become a daily memory for me as I am trying to manage without it in my life. I implore that everyone who has a thought of becoming a staff member, to do so. Reading all the other messages posted on this site is a very emotional experience. T o know that other people feel the same passion and love for that place as I do. I was in stockade summer 2000, 2001, 2002. Best time of my life. The experiences and lessons and friends that are gained during a summer at wing are priceless and only people who have been there can possibly understand what it means!
